From May 31st to June 4th, a delegation from Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje (UKIM), comprising Vice-Rector Prof.Lazo Pendovski, Confucius Institute Directors, Prof. Vlatko Stoilkov and Prof. Liao Wei, attended the grand centennial celebrations of its partner university in Chengdu China, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE).
The delegation participated in SWUFE’s spectacular anniversary events, including:
- The Centennial Gala Evening, a magnificent spectacle featuring breathtaking performances
- The 100th Anniversary Ceremony, attended by senior officials from Sichuan government and global academic leaders
- The Global University Presidents Forum, where Vice-Rector Prof. Lazo Pendovski delivered a keynote speech on “Intelligent Digital Transformation in Higher Education”
During the centennial celebrations, the delegation and SWUFE leadership agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation by upgrading Chinese language programs in North Macedonia, developing new cultural exchange initiatives, and strengthening institutional academic partnerships. Both sides pledged to launch new joint programs and research projects under the Confucius Institute framework to further solidify this educational collaboration.
