On February 12, 2025, the Confucius Institute at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje joined in a special interview on Sitel Television, a popular local TV channel in North Macedonia, to celebrate the Chinese Lantern Festival.
Teacher Lin Yulin introduced the origins and traditional customs of the Lantern Festival to the North Macedonia audience and shared details about the special Lantern Festival-themed activities organized by the Confucius Institute on this occasion.
In addition to the cultural insights, volunteer teachers Zeng Yi and Niu Jia showcased traditional Chinese arts, including calligraphy and paper-cutting. Both teachers demonstrated their skills live on-air and presented their works, offering festive greetings to the North Macedonia viewers.
The interview brought the charm of China’s traditional Lantern Festival to the local audience, sparking great interest and affection from the North Macedonian public. Through this event, the Confucius Institute helped foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture in North Macedonia.
