In November 2021, the first (global) Competition Finals of “Chinese Bridge Chinese Show for Primary School Students” themed “Happy Chinese” was successfully held online. In this Competition, Viktoria Mihajlova, a student of the Confucius Institute at UKIM, represented North Macedonia and competed on the same stage with contestants from more than 30 other countries. After several rounds of fierce competition, her outstanding performance won her the first prize, thus completing the incredible Chinese journey.

Viktoria, who is nine years old this year, is a lively, cheerful, and intelligent little girl who is good at singing and dancing. She especially likes learning Chinese, and she always comes to the classroom in advance to get ready for every class. She is very active in class and often takes the initiative to act as the teacher’s assistant, leading other students to learn Chinese songs together. Although Viktoria has learned Chinese for three years and can speak fluent Chinese in daily conversations. In the Competition, Viktoria performed the song “Where is Spring” with a beautiful singing voice, which won the judges’ favor.

Viktoria won first prize at the first (global) “Chinese Bridge Chinese Show for Primary School Students,” which is recently the Institute’s highest achievement at the Chinese Bridge Competition. Wish them to use Chinese as a bridge to grow up happy and have a bright future! This will surely inspire more students in N. Macedonia to learn Chinese, pursue their dreams and be happy.
