25th January, invited by ambassador Yin Lixian, Prof. Liao Wei and all the teachers of Confucius Institute at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje visited Chinese Embassy in Macedonia and received a warm welcome and cordial reception.
Since Chinese New Year is coming, ambassador Yin Lixian first extended her greeting and blessing. Then everyone talked about their life in Skopje, including teaching conditions and some difficulties. Prof. Liao Wei expressed his sincere gratitude to all the staff of the embassy for their support and help.
Afterwards, ambassador Yin Lixian pointed out that CI as a non-profit agency for teaching Chinese language and promoting Chinese culture played an important and irreplaceable role for the cultural communication between China and Macedonia. Also CI is more down to earth compared to the embassy, which required more strict demand. Confucius Institute at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University has been established for 5 years, which is now at a crucial period of growing. In the future, it will be more standardized, systematic and scientific to set up a sophisticated and authoritative image. Meanwhile, all the teachers of CI represent China so they need to be strict with themselves and always show their best condition and establish a good image of China.
It was a delightful conversation with the ambassador. In the new year, Confucius Institute at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University will continue to enterprise, do its own job and strive to play a greater role in friendly relations and cultural exchanges between China and Macedonia.
