In the morning of April 25th, the first Central and Eastern European Belt and Road International Forum was successfully held at the Law School of Ss. Cyril and Methodius University.
At the beginning of the event, Professor Biljana Angleova gave a speech. She first extended a warm welcome to the delegation of the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics and other guests. She hopes this international forum will strengthen the friendly cooperation between China and Macedonia as well as other countries of Central and Eastern Europe. Professor Angleova said that the strategic concept of the Chinese government’s ‘One Belt, One Road’ has already had a very important impact on the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. She hopes that they can continue to cooperate and make progress together. Afterwards, professor Goran Koevski also delivered a speech. He expressed his welcome to the delegation of Southwestern University of Finance and Economics and hoped to strengthen exchanges between the two countries through this forum. Later, Ou Bing made a keynote speech at the meeting. In his spehech, Ou Bing first introduced the history and achievements of Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, as well as the direction and goals in the double first-class construction of Chinese universities. Then, Ou Bing talked about the establishment of the Confucius Institute in 2013 by the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics through cooperation with the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University. The friendly cooperation between universities has created better conditions. At present, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics has established cooperative relations with 32 universities in 12 countries along the ‘Belt and Road’ and formed a series of exchange and cooperation projects. The school also set up a scholarship program for students from countries along the ‘Belt and Road’ in order to support international students to study and exchange at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics. Finally, Ou Bing expressed the hope that the two universities of China and Macedonia can work together to comprehensively strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the field of higher education and ushered in greater development in mutual benefit.
After the opening ceremony, the meeting came into the stage of exchanging speech. At last, Professor Alexander Sdoyukov, the deputy dean of the School of Law, made a wonderful summary.
