On September 17, 2018, three teachers of the Confucius Institute at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University were invited to the QSI International School to launch a Chinese cultural exhibition. The three teachers were fully prepared and brought a unique Chinese cultural exhibition to the students. Students of QSI have just learned about Confucius, so they are very interested in Chinese culture and everyone at the scene asked questions actively.
At the beginning of the activity, Zhao Jin introduced the Chinese culture from a macro perspective, helping students to establish the basic framework of Chinese culture and have a clear understanding by answering questions raised by students.
Next, Jinghan Qiu performed the art of tea-making to guide students to experience Chinese culture in a more intuitive way. She showed the method of brewing oolong tea with teapot and a bowl. After that she invited the students and teachers to have a taste. The sweet taste and mellow aroma of oolong tea are deeply loved by the students. The process of taste and appreciation also brings the students into a quiet and comfortable world.
Xiaofang Guo displayed three fonts of Chinese character, which are the small seal, running hand and standard script. She wrote three works of calligraphy ‘Renzhe Shou’, ‘Jianxiansiqi’, ‘Fenjin’ to encourage students to strive for their future and be virtuous. At last, teacher Guo wrote ‘Friendship between China and Macedonia’ in simplified Chinese and presented it to QSI. Miljana, a teacher who is responsible for this activity accepted the calligraphy and expressed gratitude and hoped students can have deeper cultural exchange with the Confucius Institute in the future.
