A team from the Confucius Institute at UKIM participated in a cultural evening celebrating the Chinese New Year at the International Slavic University in Sveti Nikole.
The event was attended by the Ambassador of the Peopleās Republic of China to North Macedonia H.E. Jiang Xiaoyan, the President of the International Slavic University Prof. Dr. Jordan Gjorgchev, the Mayor of the Municipality of Sveti Nikole Dejan Vladev, and the President of the MacedonianāChinese Friendship Association Ljupcho Malenkov, who delivered welcoming remarks.
During the event, teachers from the Confucius Institute presented elements of traditional Chinese culture, including an exhibition of traditional Chinese costumes, a Hanfu-inspired dance performance, and demonstrations of traditional Chinese musical instruments. The audience also enjoyed live performances of traditional Chinese music played on the hulusi and the guzheng, offering a glimpse into the richness of Chinese cultural traditions.
At the conclusion of the presentation, Prof. Liao Wei, Co-Director of the Confucius Institute at UKIM, joined the six participating teachers on stage and expressed his thanks to the organizers for the opportunity to share Chinese culture. He also mentioned recent discussions with the university leadership on potential future cooperation.
The evening concluded with a concert by the Mandolin Orchestra āSt. Nikolajā from Sveti Nikole, creating a warm atmosphere of cultural exchange and friendship.
