The Confucius Institute at UKIM participated in the Chinese New Year reception hosted by the Chinese Embassy on the evening of January 23, 2025, at Hotel Aleksandar Palace in Skopje. Over 370 guests, including members of the Chinese community and prominent figures from North Macedonia and beyond, attended the event.
During the banquet, Mr. Xu Lei, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Chinese Embassy, delivered a heartfelt speech, extending New Year greetings and expressing gratitude to all guests.
Students from the Chinese Music Class in the Confucius Institute, led by Teacher Yang Mingwei, performed traditional songs and dances, including Gongxi, Gongxi and the “Mongolian Dance,” earning enthusiastic applause. Volunteer teachers from the Institute showcased traditional Chinese culture through calligraphy demonstrations and chunlian displays, which were warmly received by attendees.
The evening concluded with a buffet blending Chinese and Macedonian flavors, celebrating the growing friendship between the two nations in a warm and festive atmosphere.
