On October 23, 2021, an online Chinese Corner-themed “My Favorite City: Chengdu” was held to celebrate the 8th anniversary of establishing the Confucius Institute at Ss. Cyril Methodius University in Skopje. The Chinese Corner was hosted by Chen Huan, a new volunteer Chinese teacher.
Chen Huan extended a warm welcome to participants and briefly introduced Chengdu’s unique geographical location and climatic conditions as the activity began. Afterward, she presented Sichuan cuisine and the long-standing tea culture. Finally, she expounded on the habits and characteristics of the giant panda, a Chinese national treasure.
The participants were encouraged to communicate in Chinese as much as possible and share their experiences of visiting China. The Chinese Corner gave them a more comprehensive view of Chengdu and strengthened their interest in Chinese culture. They said that the Chinese Corner is significant, and they look forward to improving their Chinese, learning about Chinese culture, and gaining new experiences through the Chinese Corner.
