On January 24, the day of Chinese New Year Eve the North Macedonia National Radio and Television visited the Confucius Institute at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. The Confucius Institute Macedonian Director Vlatko Stoilkov, Office Manager Elena Damjanoska, the Chinese Director Liao Wei, and teachers Zhang Lijie and Guo Xiaofang were interviewed. The interviews were broadcast as part of the popular show “Sunday Magazine” broadcast on January 26.
Vlatko Stoilkov said that the National Radio and Television of North Macedonia is a good platform for promoting Chinese language. He hoped that this cooperation will promote different exchanges and friendship between the two countries.

Elena Damjanoska introduced the cultural background of the Spring Festival celebrations and the vivid legends and customs associated with Chinese New Year celebrations.

Guo Xiaofang introduced Chinese calligraphy and presented the excellent calligraphy works produced by Confucius Institute students. Zhang Lijie explained the origin and meaning of Chinese paper-cutting culture, and demonstrated her scissor skills by making a “Blessing” paper-cut.
