On August 27, 2019, Liao Wei, the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje and Vlatko Stoilkov, the North Macedonian Director of the Confucius Institute at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, visited NOVA International School. They have an in-depth exchanges with the president Viktor Novakovski about the cooperation between Confucius Institute and the school, and decided to open a Chinese language course in the primary school and high school during the new semester.
On August 28th, all five teachers from the Confucius Institute at Ss.Cyril and Methodius University went to NOVA International School to promote Chinese language courses, various cultural activities of the Confucius Institute, and presented to the students the Confucius Institute brochure and Chinese souvenirs. Students from all over the world have a strong interest in Chinese courses and Chinese culture. Many students come to experience Chinese culture. The calligraphy works of Confucius Institute the teacher Guo Xiaofang, and the panda paper-cut works of the teacher Zhang Lijie were loved by the students and parents. The activities were very enthusiastic. At the scene, lots of students and parents who came to audit the Chinese class began to talk.
On September 2nd ,NOVA International School’s new Chinese class officially started. Liao Wei, the Chinese Dean of the Confucius Institute at SS.Cyril and Methodius University, attended the opening ceremony. The teachers and students of NOVA International School expressed their warm welcome and gratitude to the Confucius Institute teachers for the arrival of the new semester and the opening of the new class. Confucius Institute volunteer teacher Qiu Shanshan brought a wonderful first lesson to the students of NOVA International School. The course is divided into Chinese songs and simple Chinese greetings. It mobilizes the enthusiasm of Chinese students in various countries. The students are highly motivated in Chinese learning. They express their curiosity about Chinese and Chinese culture, and they interact actively. The classroom atmosphere is very warm.
The Confucius Institute at SS. Cyril and Methodius University has maintained a good cooperative relationship with NOVA International School. The Confucius Institute sent teachers to the school to offer Chinese language courses and cultural activities, actively communicate with local teachers, and make progress together to expand the Confucius Institute’s influence. New semester has a new cooperation and new prospects, Confucius Institute hopes that the opening of Chinese classes will help students from all over the world to understand China, and welcome more students to join the ranks of Chinese learning.
