Applicants currently working\u00a0as Chinese language teachers shall not be over\u00a045, while undergraduate student\u00a0applicants shall not be over\u00a025.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>SCHOLARSHIP TYPES AND QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong><\/strong><strong>Scholarship for Doctor<\/strong><strong>\u2019<\/strong><strong>s Degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (DTCSOL)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The program commences in September 2019\u00a0and provides scholarship for a maximum four\u00a0academic years. \u00a0Applicants shall hold a Master\u2019s degree in\u00a0Teaching Chinese as A Foreign Language, Linguistics, Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages\u00a0or\u00a0education-related majors. Applicants shall have\u00a0a minimum score of 200 on the\u00a0HSK Test (Level 6), 60 on the\u00a0HSKK test (Advanced\u00a0Level)\u00a0and more than 2 years\u2019\u00a0work experience in Chinese language teaching and related fields.\u00a0<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong><\/strong><strong>Scholarship for Master\u2019s Degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (MTCSOL)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The program\u00a0commences in September 2019\u00a0and provides scholarship for a maximum of two academic years. Applicants shall hold a\u00a0Bachelor\u2019s degree, and have a minimum score of 210 on the\u00a0HSK Test (Level 5) as well as 60 on the HSKK test (Intermediate Level). Priority will be given to applicants who may provide a work contract with a teaching institution or relevant proof upon completing their studies in China.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong><\/strong><strong>Scholarship for Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (BTCSOL)\u00a0<\/strong><strong><br \/> <\/strong>The program commences in September 2019and provides scholarship for a maximum of four academic years. Applicants shall hold a high school diploma\u00a0and\u00a0a minimum score of\u00a0210\u00a0on the HSK Test (Level\u00a04)\u00a0as well as 60 on the HSKK\u00a0test\u00a0(Intermediate\u00a0Level).\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong><\/strong><strong>Scholarship for One-Academic-Year Study\u00a0<\/strong><strong><br \/> <\/strong>The program commences in September 2019, and provides scholarship for a maximum of 11 months.\u00a0International students currently studying\u00a0in China are not eligible.<\/li>\n<li>TCSOL<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Applicants shall have a minimum score of 270 on the HSK test (Level 3), and an\u00a0HSKK test score is required.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Chinese Language and Literature, Chinese History, and Chinese Philosophy<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Applicants shall have a minimum score of 180 on the HSK test (Level 4) and 60 on the HSKK test (Intermediate Level).<\/p>\n<p>iii.\u00a0Chinese Language Study<\/p>\n<p>Applicants shall have a minimum score of 210 on the HSK test (Level 3).<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>E<\/strong><strong>.\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Scholarship for One-Semester Study<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The program commences\u00a0either in September 2019\u00a0or March 2020, and provides scholarship of a maximum of 5 months. Applicants holding the X1 or X2 visa are not eligible.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>TCSOL, Chinese Language and Literature, Chinese History and Chinese Philosophy<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Applicants\u00a0shall\u00a0have a minimum score of 180 on the HSK test (Level 3), and an\u00a0HSKK test score is required<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Traditional Chinese Medicine and Taiji Culture<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>An HSK test\u00a0score is\u00a0required.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>F<\/strong><strong>.\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Scholarship for Four-Week Study<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The program commences\u00a0either in\u00a0July or December 2019, and provides a four-week\u00a0scholarship. Applicants holding the X1 or X2 visa are not eligible.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Traditional Chinese Medicine and Taiji Culture<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>An HSK test score\u00a0is\u00a0required.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Chinese Language plus Home-Stay Experience in a Chinese Family<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>An HSK test score\u00a0is\u00a0required. The program is\u00a0organized and applied for by a Confucius Institute with 10-15 participants per group. Prior to the trip, a detailed study plan shall be made in\u00a0consultation with host institutions and such plan shall be submitted to Hanban for approval.<\/p>\n<p>iii. Special\u00a0Four-week Program for Confucius Institutes<\/p>\n<p>An HSK test score is\u00a0required. The program is\u00a0organized and applied for by a Confucius Institute with 10-15 participants per group.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong> Cooperative Scholarship between Hanban and Host Institutions<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Hanban, in cooperation\u00a0with some host institutions has\u00a0established the\u00a0\u201cXX University Confucius Institute Scholarship\u201d. Scholarship for One-Academic-Year Study, Scholarship for MTCSOL and Scholarship for BTCSOL shall be enrolled by the relevant institutions\u00a0according to the standards stipulated in this\u00a0Guide. Scholarship for \u201cChinese + Vocational Training\u201d\u00a0shall be enrolled according to the standards announced by the relevant\u00a0institutions\u00a0in the Application\u00a0System (the categories and enrollment slots of relevant\u00a0institutions are listed in Appendix 3).<\/p>\n<p><strong>APPLICATION PROCEDURES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Online registration will be available from March 1, 2019\u00a0on the\u00a0Confucius Institute Scholarship website (cis.chinese.cn). Please log on to search for recommending institutions and host institutions; upload application materials online; and track the application progress, comments and result. Scholarship holders need to confirm with the host institutions to go through the procedures of studying in China, print out CIS certificate online, and register at host institutions on\u00a0the designated date as per the letter of admission.<\/p>\n<p>The application deadlines are<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>a)\u00a0April 20<sup>th<\/sup>(for programscommencing in July)<\/li>\n<li>b)\u00a0May20<sup>th<\/sup>(for programs\u00a0commencing in September)<\/li>\n<li>c)\u00a0September 20<sup>th<\/sup>(for programscommencing in December)<\/li>\n<li>d)\u00a0November20<sup>th<\/sup>(for programs\u00a0commencing in March 2020)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Hanban will complete the scholarship review\u00a0and publish\u00a0the results\u00a0three\u00a0months before\u00a0enrollment of the scholarship winners.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>CHINESE BRIDGE AWARD RECIPIENT POLICIES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Chinese Bridge winners who have been awarded the 2019\u00a0\u201cConfucius Institute Scholarship Certificate\u201d shall log onto the scholarship website and submit documents to relevant host institutions upon presentation of their CIS certificates. The monthly allowance for undergraduates, one-academic-year study students and one-semester students is 2,500 CNY\u00a0per person. For MTCSOL student, the monthly allowance is 3,000\u00a0CNY per person.\u00a0For DTCSOL student, the monthly allowance is 3500 CNY per person.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Students are required to complete enrollment procedures\u00a0for every semester\u00a0within\u00a0stipulated period; otherwise, their scholarship may be cancelled.\u00a0Students who are enrolled before the 15th (or on the 15th) of the month are entitled to the full allowance of that month\u00a0while\u00a0those\u00a0enrolled after the 15th of that month are only entitled to half of the amount.<\/p>\n<p>During the study period, for any student who is absent from China due to personal reasons for more than 15 days (excluding winter and summer holidays), the allowance during absence will be suspended.<\/p>\n<p>For students who suspend study or drop out of school for personal reasons, or who are given disciplinary punishment by the host institutions, allowance will be terminated on the date of such suspension, dropping out or when the decision of such punishment is announced.<\/p>\n<p>The living allowance for the month of graduation will be granted half a month after the date of graduation or expiration day of the study confirmed by host institutions.<\/p>\n<p>Comprehensive medical insurance is purchased by the host institutions in accordance\u00a0with\u00a0relevant regulations\u00a0of studying in China\u00a0stipulated by the Ministry of Education of China. Insurance fee per person is 160 CNY for four-week study students, 400 CNY for one-semester students, and 800 CNY per year for students engaged in program longer than one academic year.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Appendix 2<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Documents for Confucius Institute Scholarship<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>For all applicants\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>a)\u00a0aScanned copy of passport photo\u00a0page<\/li>\n<li>b)\u00a0ascanned copy of score reports of the HSK\u00a0and\u00a0HSKK\u00a0tests\u00a0(within the\u00a0two-year\u00a0validity).<\/li>\n<li>c)\u00a0areferenceletter by the head of the recommending institutions<\/li>\n<li>For degree scholarship program applicants<\/li>\n<li>a)\u00a0acertification of the highest education diploma (or proof of expected graduation) and an official transcript.<\/li>\n<li>b)applicants of the Scholarship for DTCSOL students are required to provide 2 reference letters from professors or associate professorsor experts with equivalent professional and technical titles in relevant fields and a 3000-word personal statement in Chinese (including knowledge of the intended field\u00a0of study and research proposal)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>applicants of the Scholarship for MTCSOL students are required to provide 2 reference letters from professors or associate professors.
