On December 24, the Confucius Institute at UKIM held a cultural and academic presentation at the University of Information Science and Technology “St. Paul the Apostle” in Ohrid, attracting nearly 80 participants, including university students, university professors, school principals, and members of the local community.
During the event, Professor Liao Wei, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute, delivered a key presentation introducing the mission of the Confucius Institute, as well as its Chinese language courses, cultural programs, and academic projects, offering participants a clear overview of the Institute’s work and opportunities.
Participants then took part in a series of interactive activities led by the teaching team, including a mini Chinese language class, hands-on Chinese calligraphy and paper-cutting, and live performances of traditional Chinese instruments—the Hulusi and Guzheng.
The event provided participants with a vivid experience of Chinese culture and further strengthened cultural and people-to-people exchanges between China and North Macedonia.
The activity was covered by local media, including OhridNews and OhridPress. Professor Liao Wei also gave on-site interviews to both media outlets.
