On December 23, 2024, the Confucius Institute at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University held a Chinese traditional painting exhibition. Distinguished guests included Mr. Xu Lei, Charge d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in North Macedonia; Prof. Dr. Aleksandar Skeparovski, Vice President of the University; Prof. Slavica Janeshlieva, Dean of the School of Arts; and the Confucius Institute’s Directors, Prof. Liao Wei and Prof. Vlatko Stoilkov. Each of them delivered speeches, emphasizing the importance of cultural exchange and the unique charm of Chinese art.
Painter Prof. Gao Shi delivered a lecture on Chinese painting, showcasing its depth and charm through videos and live demonstrations. Over 60 participants, including teachers, students, and art enthusiasts, attended. His live demonstration particularly captivated the audience, providing an interactive and immersive experience that brought the art to life. The event concluded with a lottery, where Prof. Gao Shi gifted one of his paintings, earning warm applause.
This event fostered cultural exchange between China and North Macedonia and enhanced the Confucius Institute’s influence in the region.
